Helix Institute

Biotech & Card Transformation

Overview

The Helix Institute is the Terran Compact's research arm -- a sprawling network of orbital laboratories, gene-editing facilities, and experimental stations pushing the boundaries of human biology and card engineering. Where other factions play the cards they're dealt, Helix rewrites them.

Their specialty is transformation. Helix cards mutate, upgrade, split, and recombine in ways that make their decks unpredictable and dangerously flexible. A Helix player's market at the end of a run looks nothing like where it started.

Playstyle

Helix Institute decks thrive on card manipulation and transformation. They start slow but evolve into something far greater than the sum of their parts.

Lore

The Helix Institute was born from humanity's desperate need to adapt to alien environments during the Expansion Wars. When colonial medicine couldn't keep pace with the hostile biospheres of contested worlds, a consortium of geneticists and bioengineers broke away from traditional research to pursue more radical solutions.

Their breakthroughs saved millions of colonists -- and raised uncomfortable questions about how far human modification should go. Today the Institute operates under Compact oversight, but their experiments continue to push ethical boundaries. Their motto: "Nothing is final. Everything evolves."
